TED Talks on Creativity and Writing: 7 of my Favorites

TED is a foundation devoted to spreading ideas through recorded talks that are 18 minutes or less. The talks are inspirational and powerful, and cover a large range of topics from science to entertainment to creativity.

I watch TED Talks all the time (sometimes to re-watch those I’ve seen before) mostly because I want an inspiration-boost. TED Talks are empowering as well, so much that I return to my own creativity and writing with more energy.

Inspiration is something I think all of us creatives need from time to time. That’s why I’ve gathered together 7 of my favorite TED Talks on creativity and writing.

In this TED Talk Susan Cain, author of Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking, talks about introverts and how they — in today’s world where we’re all supposed to be social and outgoing — can bring extraordinary talent to the world.

Elizabeth Gilbert: Your Elusive Creative Genius

In this TED Talk Elizabeth Gilbert, author of Eat, Pray, Love and the new Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear, talks about the term ”genius” and that all of us have a genius.

Julie Burstein: 4 Lessons in Creativity
